Heads up for the July 15th Drive day to Marysville and Warburton. Its ON! (Fingers crossed for good weather!)
The meeting point is at the Alistair Knox Park, corner of Bridge Street and Main Road Eltham (Main Rd side) at 9:30am for a 10am start. Don't be late!
The drive will go from Eltham via Kangaroo Ground and St Andrews to Kinglake, out to Healesville and then over the Black Spur to Marysville for lunch. After lunch, people can either call it a day, or do an afternoon cruise on arguably the best piece of public tarmac in Victoria - out over Reefton Spur and down into Warburton. If you haven't driven on this road before don't miss out!
There is a $5 attendance fee to cover our insurance for the day (a small price to pay!)
Please pass an invitation to any other potentially interested parties - they would be most welcome to join us.
You can view the intended route here http://www.mazdacarclub.org.au/modules/wfdownloads/visit.php?cid=3&lid=25
Please mail me on nbradford@mazdacarclub.org.au me if you have any questions about the day.
Hi all - just a quick note to remind everyone that we are not having our monthly meeting at the normal location (whatever that is!), but instead meeting on Wednesday 4th July at the Penrite Oils Factory, Factory 17, 11 Havelock Road, Bayswater at 7-00 to 7-15 PM for a technical and social night.
There will be light refreshments available, and members will be able to participate in a technical talk about Penrites products as well as view their extensive collection of vintage cars.
It would be appreciated if you could let me know if you are intending to come along so we can let Penrite know what numbers to expect for catering purposes.
Edit: Respond in this thread if you are coming pls.

Please note that due to management changes at the Beehive hotel making our normal venue unavailable, the meeting location for this month has been changed.
This month’s meeting will be at the state CAMS offices at 851 Dandenong Road, East Malvern on Wednesday 6th, June at about 7:30pm
We hope to locate a more favourable venue for future meetings, so get your thinking caps on - any recommendations or suggestions will be greatly appreciated
Those that are interested in getting their cars on the track for the first time, or joining me in bettering their times on the fabulous Phillip Island Grand Prix track will keen to know that the next Group 5 sprint at the island is on for the 2nd and 3rd of June.
Akin Kulekci has organised a club day at Silhouette Karts in Somerton on the 27th of May. This is going to be a BLAST and places are limited and filling up fast. If you want to join in the fun, please let Akin know on 0411 099 500.

The site will also contain information on the cars and crews, a Driver's Diary -- updated each day by Mazda6 MPS pilot Melinda Both -- and a direct link to the Targa Tasmania course and results pages.

Through the generosity of Mazda Australia, the Club was fortunate enough to receive an allocation of some free tickets for the 2007 Melbourne Motor Show.
Some were allocated as a special surprise ‘gift’ item to a selection of new members who joined in January and February, and the remaining tickets were raffled to members present at the February General Meeting.
The Club wishes to publicly acknowledge the generosity of Mazda Australia and thank them for their kind gesture, and accordingly a letter of thanks has been sent to Mazda Australia on behalf of the Club and all the members who were fortunate enough to receive tickets.
On Saturday 9th, and Sunday 10th March, the Club participated in this years Phillip Island Classic event where we had a display stand in the ‘Shannon’s Walk’.
The event is for classic, vintage and veteran cars (and veteran drivers, hence my involvement!), plus racing cars of every conceivable type – all gathering at the Grand Prix Circuit at Phillip Island. There are displays from car clubs, plus a full schedule of races for various classes of racing cars throughout the day.
On 11th February 2007 the HSV Owners Club Victoria held a sprint event at Sandown Racetrack to which MCCA members were invited.
For those of you who don’t know what a sprint event is (also sometimes known as a Lap-Dash, and definitely not to be confused with a lap dance!) it is a club level speed event held on a race track where several cars are released onto the circuit at the same time to complete (usually) about 3 or 4 timed laps. It is not a race, overtaking is permitted only when safe to do so (when ‘waved’ through by the other car), and no ‘racing’ is allowed (aggressive overtaking etc.). It is a pretty safe way in which you can test you and your cars limits if you so desire.
The Phillip Island Classic is on this weekend (10th & 11th of March) and the MCCA will be there! We have 8 spots to show per day for what will be the largest Motorsport event in the southern hemisphere, what we're all about! There are 5 spots available on both days for those who would like to join us in what is sure to be a great day(s) out!

I have tickets with me and we'll be meeting at the First servo on the left as you enter San Remo at 9:30am both days. We won't be there for long though as the traffic will be pretty dense, so let me know if you would like to attend by emailing me at zokstoj@optusnet.com
For those who are unfarmiliar with the road to the Island, there is a map at the link below:

San Remo is the town just before the bridge to get onto the island.
See you all there
