Cape Schanck Lighthouse Run 2025

After the success of last year's event, join us again for a beautiful Autumn drive on the Mornington Peninsula and bring a picnic to enjoy at Cape Schanck Lighthouse!
We'll meet at the Baxter BP Truckstop for a 10:00 am departure.

- Meet at Baxter BP Truckstop Outbound
- Follow Peninsula link/ Mornington Peninsula Freeway to Arthurs Seat Road
- Stop at the top to check views and or cool off cars if they are a little hot from the enthusiastic climb up Arthurs Seat Road. If the carpark is full, we move on.
- Turn right onto Main Creek Road. Clearly signposted
- Take the 2nd exit at the upcoming roundabout
- Then left onto Purves Road. This is a T intersection.
- At the next roundabout take the 1st exit onto Baldry’s Road
- Follow Baldry’s Road and then turn right onto Mornington-Flinders Road
- Option: stop at the Flinders Blow Hole. Limited parking here.
- Turn right onto Boneo Road

CAUTION…the road into Main Creek gully has a tightening curve, reduce speed on entry, or risk ending up on the wrong side. (people have been caught out here before being a bit too enthusiastic)
- Turn left onto Cape Schanck Road. Only a small sign here, easy to miss.
- Follow on to the carpark.

There are picnic tables, but you may need to bring a chair and, of course, your favourite picnic lunch and drinks.
A Thermos with hot coffee will be ideal if the weather is cool.
If it is windy, take care on the walk to the cape, because initially this path is sheltered, but you will end up on a ridge where the wind may hit very hard from the West.
Explore the lighthouse and park grounds at your leisure.
